Jide Awobona, a popular Nollywood actor, has confessed that he was recently defrauded on a social networking platform.

Jide wrote on Thursday on his Instagram page that his fans should be careful who they talk to on social media because he has now become a victim.

Jide noted that a friend or family member can ask for money on social media, but it's crucial to call the individual first to verify the legitimacy of the call before proceeding with any transaction.

Some hackers, he believes, may have hacked the account of the person seeking your assistance.

“I am a victim. Your friends can ask you for money on Social Media, your family can, your fans can, but please, ensure you reach out to the person via a call before any transaction. The account could have been hacked.”

 

Fans, on the other hand, have reacted to the post. They encouraged the actor to use social media with caution.
