Court Adjourns Baba Ijesha's Trial As Judges Go On 'Retreat'

The trial of embattled Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha has been postponed to September 27 by the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos.

The case had been deferred by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo to August 11 and 12, in order to restart the trial that had begun in July.

The case has been postponed because the judges are on "retreat," according to the Court's registrar, Ibrahim Hassan.

Baba Ijesha was charged with six counts of defilement of a minor when he was arraigned on June 24. The Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Mrs Olayinka Adeyemi, has so far presented two witnesses for the prosecution.
