Actress Funke Akindele Claps Back at Critic Advising Her to Stop Starring in Her Own Movies

Nollywood star Funke Akindele recently responded sharply to a netizen who suggested she should stop casting herself in her films. The exchange took place on the social media platform X after Akindele posted a video of herself dancing to promote her upcoming movie, "Everybody Loves Jenifa," slated for a December release.

A user, @Godbles82, commented, suggesting that Akindele might achieve more success if she produced a film without appearing in it. "Maybe you could do better by producing a movie one day without being part of the cast," the user wrote.

Akindele quickly replied, "Maybe you could do better logging out of this app."

The exchange sparked reactions from other users. Ayo Shonaaiya humorously remarked, "Lol. Werey is telling you how to live your life and do your work 😂." Another user, Sutho, acknowledged that while the suggestion might have been made in a harsh manner, it had some merit, referencing other films where producers take a backseat in their own projects. Meanwhile, Ahex praised Akindele's witty response, saying, "If na that one now him go don arrest am .. na why I like you."
