"Na we dey control the whole of Nigeria now" – MC Oluomo's son brag as he celebrates father's appointment as NURTW National President.

King West, son of Musiliu Akinsanya—known popularly as MC Oluomo—proudly celebrated his father’s recent appointment as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). Following the announcement of his father’s victory, King West took to his Instagram story to express pride, declaring himself “officially the son of the president of NURTW Nigeria” and thanking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support. In a now-deleted post, he hinted at his family's broader influence, writing, “Nah the country we dey control now, no be only Lagos again.”

The celebratory post triggered a wave of reactions on social media, where users voiced varying opinions on the family’s influence. One user, Kennedy Excel, criticized the celebratory tone, writing, “Papa and pikin na gangster. Werey, na only Lagos State una dey control. Your papa no go fit try am for Aba or Onitsha,” suggesting the family’s reach might be limited to Lagos.

Another user, Viks_Vico, expressed disapproval of King West’s remarks, saying, “When a father is an illiterate, then what would you expect from his son? An apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” Only1phone echoed this sentiment, speculating that the new role could be part of a larger political strategy, “Lol, so they made an office for him against the next set of rigging stunt.”

Some commenters took a broader perspective, with Captain Lindaa predicting potential political aspirations: “They are already planning for the next election.” Others were surprised by the office itself, like Lagos Butcher, who asked, “So there’s an office of NURTW president?”

One user, __lade, reacted to King West’s words with dismay, remarking, “The fact that you know say your papa na beast and you’re proud of it.” The post has since been taken down, but the conversation online continues, highlighting public concern and contrasting reactions to the family's expanding influence.
