Nollywood actress Biola Bayo is celebrating after reports surfaced that the Ooni of Ife’s estranged wife, Naomi Silekunola, and broadcaster Oriyomi Hamzat were released on bail. The two, alongside a school principal, were reportedly granted bail following their earlier arrest related to a tragic stampede at a charity event.
Taking to Instagram, Biola expressed her joy over the news, stating she could now enjoy the festive season with a lighter heart. She congratulated those involved and prayed against any recurrence of such misfortune.
She wrote:
“Now I can enjoy this festive period with joy. Congratulations to my people. Affliction will not rise again in Jesus’ name. I’m sincerely happy for them. Loruko Jesu, a o ni shi ore se o.”
Social media users also celebrated the development:
Okiki Adee: “I still don’t know their offense, tbh.”

Olaide Olawemi4: “Wow, congratulations.”

Earlier this week, reports revealed that Naomi and Oriyomi Hamzat faced charges related to a stampede during a charity event organized to feed the less privileged. The incident tragically claimed over 32 lives. The duo was remanded at Agodi Correctional Facility and arraigned on charges including conspiracy, negligence, and failure to provide adequate security and medical facilities.
Biola Bayo, heartbroken by the arrest, had previously prayed for Naomi, expressing sadness that her good intentions to help others led to such a predicament. Biola used the situation as a reminder to pray that acts of kindness would not result in trouble.
