"You blocked me, but you're not the God I'm serving." – Faithia Williams Calls Out Funke Akindele Over Instagram Block

Nollywood actress Faithia Williams has publicly called out her colleague, Funke Akindele, accusing her of blocking her on Instagram following a fallout between the two.

The tension between the former friends became evident when it was reported that they had unfollowed each other on Instagram, sparking a wave of speculation online. Sources claim that the rift started when Faithia allegedly snubbed Funke’s movie premiere, choosing instead to attend Mercy Aigbe's premiere. This was seen as a response to Funke not attending Faithia's father's burial despite receiving an invitation.

Taking to her TikTok page, Faithia addressed the situation directly, stating that Funke is not her God and that she was unbothered by the alleged petty act. She made it clear that she was not disturbed by Funke’s actions, which she took as a swipe at their once-close friendship.

Their fallout is surprising, as only a year ago, Faithia was one of Funke’s strongest supporters, promoting her movie A Tribe Called Judah through several pieces of content.

This public spat adds to Funke’s history of conflicts with colleagues, particularly over support for her rivals. Notably, Funke and actress Iyabo Ojo had a lengthy feud, which began when Iyabo publicly criticized Funke after a blogger attacked Toyin Abraham's movie The Ghost and The Tout. However, the two actresses reconciled in 2022 at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, exchanging warm gestures and putting their differences aside.

Funke also had a well-known rivalry with Toyin Abraham, but the two put their animosity behind them in the past year. Toyin celebrated Funke’s birthday, and Funke reciprocated the gesture. Toyin also attended Funke’s movie premiere, putting to rest rumors of continued hostility between the two.

Despite their reconciliation, rumors still swirl about Funke’s alleged interference with casting decisions, including claims that she pressured media mogul Mo Abudu to replace Toyin Abraham with Kate Henshaw in Chief Daddy. Additionally, Funke is said to have tried to pressure Mo to remove actress Beverly Osu from a film, but the situation was reportedly defused by veteran actress Joke Silva.

These reports highlight ongoing tensions in the Nollywood industry, with Funke Akindele at the center of several high-profile disputes.
