Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has shared details of a life-threatening health crisis he faced during an evangelism program seven years ago.
Speaking during a recent church service, Adeboye recalled collapsing in Ilesha due to extreme exhaustion, worsened by the poor road conditions. The situation became so severe that he had to be airlifted to the RCCG camp for treatment. However, during the evacuation, some individuals attempted to prevent the helicopter from taking off, even damaging one of its windows.
The revered cleric revealed that, for the first time in his life, he was forced to spend Christmas bedridden due to his health struggles. He admitted that at the time, the devil seemed certain that he had won the battle.
"Seven years ago, during this same program, my body completely broke down because of the terrible road conditions. For the first time in my life, I spent Christmas Day in bed. The devil was sure he had finally got me. I collapsed in Ilesha, and we had to charter a helicopter to bring me back to camp because I was too weak to travel by road. If I had attempted to, I would not have made it," Adeboye narrated.
Despite the challenges, the pastor expressed gratitude to God for preserving his life, declaring that seven years later, he is still standing strong. He urged the congregation to join him in giving thanks to God for His mercy and protection.
