Father of Late Music Act Destiny Boy Opens Up on Emotional Struggles After Son’s Death

The father of late Nigerian music act Destiny Boy has shared a deeply emotional account of how life has been since the passing of his son, describing his daily experience as unreal and filled with ongoing grief.

He explained that since the burial, he has largely been left alone, saying he has not received consistent support or regular check-ins from people around him. According to him, only two of his son’s friends have stayed close, offering him monthly financial help, visits, and phone calls.

The grieving father also spoke about the emotional pain of still living in the house his late son started building for him. He revealed that the building remains unfinished and carries painful memories, especially because it is also where his son was eventually laid to rest.

He added that before his death, the young artiste had promised to complete the house for him, a promise that now remains unfulfilled and deeply emotional for the family.

Reflecting on the tragedy, he said:

“Everything is still like a dream to me.”

He also dismissed rumours circulating online that music executive Pasuma gave him a large financial gift after his son’s death, describing the claims as false.

According to him:

“To people saying Pasuma gave me N10 million after Destiny Boy’s death, it is not true. I didn’t see 10 kobo.”

He further expressed that life has been extremely difficult since the loss, stressing the emotional isolation and lack of wider support he has experienced while trying to cope with the tragedy.
