Kamo State Earns Praise as He Cancels His Birthday Party Following Insecurity in the Country (Video)

Nigerian skitmaker and actor Akinyoola Ayoola, popularly known as Kamo State, has earned praise from many Nigerians after announcing the cancellation of his planned birthday celebration in solidarity with victims of insecurity in the country.

The actor, who is set to celebrate his birthday on June 14, had earlier revealed plans to host a special party for his fans. The announcement attracted massive attention online, with thousands of supporters expressing excitement about the event.

However, in a new video shared on Instagram, Kamo State disclosed that he had decided to cancel the celebration due to the current security challenges facing the nation, particularly the reported abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.

According to him, it would be insensitive to organize a party while many families are worried about the safety of their loved ones.

Explaining his decision, he said:

“I said I wanted to celebrate my birthday with a few of my fans and posted it on all social platforms. Since the post, I’ve had 60,000 comments. I am so grateful, y’all are Kamonation.”

He added that the situation in the country requires compassion rather than celebration.

“I am here to tell you all that I have postponed my birthday for this year. I am not celebrating it anymore because we can’t have a party at this time. It would be insensitive of me and my team to plan anything at this time.”

The actor pointed to the growing insecurity in the country and the plight of abducted children and teachers as the major reasons behind his decision.

“The insecurity, the abducted children and teachers, and all we can do is lend our voices. Safety first.”

Kamo State further stressed that there is little reason to celebrate while families continue to wait for the safe return of their loved ones.

“My birthday party is cancelled out of respect for the current situation in the country. Little children and teachers who were abducted haven’t returned home, so there’s nothing to celebrate.”

His decision has been widely applauded online, with many Nigerians commending him for showing empathy and using his platform to draw attention to the country's security challenges.
