Comic Yoruba actor, Olanrewaju James, aka Baba Ijesha, has been granted bail.
The actor, who has been in police custody since April for allegedly defiling comedian Princess' foster daughter, was granted bail on medical grounds by a magistrate who was at the State Criminal Investigation Department SCID Panti to review some cases in an effort to decongest the police facility today, May 17.
Baba Ijesha has not been released because his counsel, Adesina Ogunlana, is still working on perfecting his bail conditions, which include the requirement that he have two sureties. One of the sureties must be a Level 10 public officer, and the other must be an actor's relative. The bail sum has been set at N500, 000.
Due to the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria's strike, the accused actor has yet to be tried in court (JUSUN).
