Sunday Igboho, a popular Yoruba Nation agitator, has been detained in Cotonou, Benin Republic, according to report.
According to a reports, he was arrested at a Cotonou airport on Monday night.
Igboho was apprehended by Benin Republic security forces three weeks after the Department of State Services proclaimed him sought for allegedly stockpiling weaponry, an allegation he has since disputed.
According to a report Igboho would be deported to Nigeria on Tuesday (today) from Benin Republic, one of Nigeria's West African neighbors.
“Sunday Igboho has been arrested in Cotonou. He was arrested about an hour ago.”
“He was supposed to travel to Germany through Cotonou this night. He wanted to leave Africa through Cotonou. He was arrested by security operatives in Cotonou.”
“They are planning to bring him back to Nigeria.” a source said.
