An Oyo state High Court has ordered Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba Nation activist, to get N20 billion from the Department of State Services (DSS).
The payment is for damage to his Soka residence in Ibadan that occurred during the DSS invasion on July 1.
In a complaint brought by Igboho, who is now detained in Benin Republic, Justice Ladiran Akintola issued the decision on Friday, September 17.
Igboho had claimed N500 billion in compensation for the damage to his residence.
The raid was ruled unconstitutional by the court, which also chastised the DSS for its "arbitrary violence and prejudices."
A challenge to the judge's jurisdiction to hear the case was also dismissed.
Igboho was arrested in Benin Republic while attempting to flee to Germany after the DSS invaded his home on July 1, 2021.
