On Tuesday, July 30, Onyeka Onwenu, the legendary Nigerian singer, journalist, actress, and politician, passed away. The tragic incident occurred moments after she performed at the 80th birthday celebration of Stella Okoli, the owner of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.

After her performance, Onwenu reportedly returned to her seat and suddenly collapsed. She was immediately rushed to Reddington Hospital in Lagos, where she was pronounced dead. She was 72 years old.
