Nollywood superstar and box office queen Funke Akindele has been left overwhelmed by the massive love and support from her fans after achieving another remarkable milestone. Her latest film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, has shattered records to become the highest-grossing film in West Africa, earning an astonishing 1.6 billion naira.
Taking to Instagram to celebrate the achievement, Funke revealed she had broken her own previous record. The director, known for her exceptional work ethic and cinematic successes, was visibly emotional as she credited her triumph to God and the unwavering support of her millions of fans.

Funke Akindele’s reign as Africa’s box office queen is undisputed. In January 2023, she made history as the first Nigerian director to surpass 1.4 billion naira at the box office with her critically acclaimed film, A Tr!be Called Judah.
