"I Never Knew You Were ill" — Actress Ngozi Ezeonu Mourns the Death of Her Colleague, Nkechi Nweje

Nollywood has been thrown into mourning as popular actress Ngozi Ezeonu expressed deep sadness over the death of her colleague, Nkechi Nweje.

It was reported over the weekend that Nkechi Nweje passed away after a brief illness.

Taking to her Instagram page, Ngozi Ezeonu revealed that she was unaware of Nkechi’s sickness. She shared her heartbreak at never being able to see Nkechi’s warm, smiling face again. The actress described Nweje as one of the kindest people she had ever met in Nollywood, calling her death a painful loss.

In her words:

“It is so difficult to believe you are gone, ezigbo nwanyi Onicha. I never knew you were ill. So I will never see your ever-smiling face again. Nkechi, you were one of the nicest people I met in Nollywood. This is indeed a big blow. Go well, my beautiful sister.”

Sadly, this comes just weeks after the industry lost another veteran, Columbus Irisoanga. His passing was announced by actress Hilda Dokubo on Instagram, where she expressed her heartbreak and described how heavy her heart felt with the sad news.
