Ayomikun, the daughter of popular Nigerian gospel singer Tope Alabi, has caused a stir online after throwing shade at her biological father, Mayegun Olaoye.
Ayomikun recently had a private and lavish wedding ceremony, attended by top celebrities, including actress Funke Akindele. However, her biological father was absent from the event, and her mother’s husband, Soji Alabi, proudly walked her down the aisle.
Following the wedding, reports emerged that her father, who has been accused of being a deadbeat parent, took to social media to express anger and frustration over not being invited or involved in the celebration.
In response to his outburst, Ayomikun took to her Instagram story — in a now-deleted post — to hint at their strained relationship. She made it clear that, unlike the character in Mercy Aigbe’s movie Ada Omo Daddy (a girl who forgave and reunited with her deadbeat father), she would not be doing the same.
She wrote:
“Me, I’m not Ada Omo Daddy sha. To God be the glory.”
Her post quickly went viral, with many social media users supporting her decision.
Here are some of the reactions from fans:
